Let's Get Started on Your Quilt

PREPARE YOUR BACKING

Backing should have an  4" extra ON ALL SIDES. For example, if you have a quilt top that is 60" x 80", your backing should measure at least 68" x 88". It can be bigger, not smaller. Please do not baste. There is no need for that with my longarm frame.

When piecing a backing fabric, it's best if you use a 1/2 inch seam and press the seam open.

For the backing, horizontal seams are preferred, but not necessary.  Additional  fees will be applied

if your backing needs to be seamed.

TIDY UP YOUR QUILT

Please ensure that your top and backing seams are pressed neatly. Please also clip stray threads or raveling fabrics as best as

you can. You might not be able to get them all, but to prevent dark threads from shadowing through your quilt top, please don't skip this important step.

It happens to all of us. We have seams coming loose, wavy borders, or puckers. I will do my best to deal with these issues, but sometimes it just can’t be done. Depending on the situation, a work around may be nearly invisible or it may still be noticeable.  Any time these types of issues arise, I will be in contact with you so we can work together to make sure your quilt top comes to life in the best possible way.

CHOOSE A QUILTING DESIGN

You have the options. You pick the design or we work together to pick the design. This can be overwhelming, but we are in this together to make sure your quilt comes to life to your liking.
